Description:
This delicately composed, minimalist drawing is not just an angel, but also carries a deeper message, interspersed with symbols. The heart-shaped figure and the details that emerge from the simple forms invite the viewer on a spiritual journey. At the heart of the work shines the Heart of Life – a forgotten, ancient and universal symbol that evokes the power of divine love and care.
The minimalist drawing shows a heart-shaped angel.
The head is a simple circle, slightly lowered onto the upper part of the heart-shaped body. The two circular arches on the right and left of the heart intersect in the middle with the lower curve of the head; at these intersections, two almond-shaped eyes are created, giving the image a strange, mystical feel.
The angel’s wings are also curved at the bottom, closing in a heart shape, as if to gently embrace the new heart shape. The converging wing tips form a gesture reminiscent of prayer. The symbol in the centre of the angelic embrace is the Heart of Life.
The simplicity of the design and the mystical gaze of the angel – like the all-seeing eye, the keeper of all secrets – look out at the viewer.
The recurring motifs of the heart within the heart express the importance of love, and the angelic embrace is presented in the work as divine care.
In the centre, at the focal point, a new – or perhaps a forgotten, ancient – symbol captures the eye: the Heart of Life, where the seeds of creation are united in the beautiful shape of a heart.
